Betty
Betty was born in October 1977 and spent most of her life wandering round California, never really knowing what life was all about. In August 2006, she placed an ad online in search of something more than the past 29 years spent chugging from here to there – never really accomplishing anything of any real importance.
After spending 2 months traveling around California working on a documentary, Steve found himself in Los Angeles looking for a vehicle to take him north to Burning Man - a festival of sustainable culture deep in the Nevada desert.
When he saw Betty, Steve finally understood how a man could fall in love with a piece of welded steel.
After the raging dust storms and malnourishment suffered in Nevada, Betty was a little hesitant of her new found acquaintance, but as the miles rolled by she came to realize this was her chance to break free from the shackles of modern day society and drive her way toward a life of fulfillment – both inside and out – to try her best to run as well as possible in an effort to help those around her.
Steve and Betty crossed the United States, Arriving in New York, September 2006.
One year later, after spending several months waiting patiently to undergo minor surgery, Betty is ready for the long journey she was promised back in sunny California. Now having to put up with not one, but two smelly Australians – with the arrival of Harley in August 2007 - she is willing and looking forward to the long road of discovery ahead.
lets’ drive baby…
