Stranded in Cuzco

People travel to Cuzco from all over the world to visit the ancient lost Incan city of Machu Picchu.

We’ve been here for 11 days now and not managed to breach the cities stone walls.

Betty is horribly ill.

15 mechanics have spoken intimately with her, but none seem to have the touch that she needs.

Each day we start her up bright and early, splutter and stall our way across town to mechanic centro, where countless theories have been tried, tested and failed.

Is it the fuel pump?

The Ignition Coil?

The Distributor?

No.

No.

No.

Is it the Injectors?

The Air Intake System?

The Computer Module?

No..

Surely it must be electrical..

maybe.. No.. WHO KNOWS!

Maybe Betty just needs a little time to herself.

Anyway, Cuzco isn’t such a bad place to be stuck.

In fact it’s a really nice place.

The entire city is built on earth and stone, solid adobe walls, beautiful exposed timber and terracotta tiles - little cobbled lane ways running throughout.

These buildings have lasted hundreds of years and are made from the earth - the way all buildings should be made.

Why did we start to use artificial buildings materials when everything we need is right here on the land?

Although certainly well touristed, Cuzco maintains a special charm and it has been nice to spend some real time here.

We are however ready to get the hell out of here - Machu Picchu calls us and the road is long ahead.

But for now we wait..

Stranded in Cuzco.
